Kitchen cabinets are available in a variety of materials. Custom cabinets are often made from solid wood, or from plywood with wood veneers applied to the exposed surfaces. Manufactured  MDF cabinets are available with a laminate or thermafoil surface. The manufactured surface minimizes the cost of the cabinets because the materials are less expensive to manufacture; clean-up is very simple for these cabinets. These types include melamine, laminates, lacquered board, PVC, wood, wood veneer, stainless steel, and glass are among the materials most commonly used by kitchen cabinet manufacturers. This means that, just as for any decorating project, you need to learn about the characteristics of each of these materials and then decide which to use, bearing in mind your needs and lifestyle demands. .
